99.9% of digital marketing agency owners have only ever made money through charging fees. Very few have ever spent more than a couple thousand on their own ads or ever grown their own business using what they sell. At Growth Getters, we are a bit different. Old Way = Transactional Marketing Better Way = Relationship Marketing People outside of the marketing org have always wanted the easy button and think they've found it with AI. There is an old saying, "Just because you can doesn't mean you should." AI and its influencers are creating trust issues in a world already struggling to trust each other. Some believe that brute forcing rehashed content farming devoid of original thought for brand awareness and algorithm-chasing is the new oil. Still, when you peel back the onion or look behind the curtain there isn't much substance or value being delivered. Yes, impressions and engagement are KPIs for your brand's reach, but after that, most of the retention dies off further down the funnel in consideration and conversion. This is somewhat normal in the marketing world, but it is just more of the same. Whether you label it as inbound marketing or outbound marketing doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is truly the definition of insanity. If you truly want high-quality new sales acquisitions and conversions the easy button is working with your existing customers to be your brand advocates. Authenticity requires putting in the work. Referrals are less expensive, have a greater affluence, and have a higher LTV. The best use of AI is to break down existing process silos for seamless customer experiences, not the creation of bland regurgitated content. Understand your audience. Understand your channel strategy. Agree or disagree?

A redemptive framework for Direct-Response: For those of you in marketing, I'm sure you're familiar with the term "direct response". It's a type of marketing designed to elicit immediate action like a purchase, sign-up, etc. Although great in theory (who doesn't want to put a piece of marketing collateral in front of someone and they convert immediately?) - it many times lends itself to be utilized as weapon rather than a tool. Ok, tell me something...Have you ever come across an ad or an offer and experienced this? - False Scarcity - Hidden Costs - Forced Continuity - Exaggerated Claims - Preselected Options - Etc. Yea - these suck. And sadly, they are all too common. So how do we think about Direct Response through a redemptive framework? How do we get people to take action without exploiting them? 1. Whole Truths are Whole Truths Reject the temptation to exaggerate. Half truths told as whole truths are white lies. And white lies are, well...lies. 2. "Urgency" should over index on service (Give > Take) Utilizing urgency should be an approach where it truly seeks to serve the client. i.e. Countdown timers that restart after a page refresh - no. Sign up due dates because your program starts on a certain date - yes. 3. Direct Response is Brand Building You are building a reputation. How people "feel" when they interact with your marketing and the entire buying process should invoke in them a sense of empowerment. Ask colleagues for recommendations and check with your local marketing association chapters, like SMPS or APMP. Once you have some leads, spend time talking to these individuals. A common question I get when consulting with a prospective client is "How long will it take to see results with SEO?" 🤔 It's a fair question - after all, you want to know if you'll see an ROI and have some proof that your marketing budget is being used wisely. SEO is a marathon, not a Sprint 🏃🏻‍♂️💨 On average it takes a minimum of 6 months of consistent efforts to begin seeing results with SEO, but it really comes down to a lot of different factors to determine how long it will take for YOU 🫵🏻 to see results. Some factors that influence how much time it will take for your SEO to work can include 👇🏻 1. Goals: Are you trying to rank for low-volume searches or are you going after competitive high-volume terms? 2. Resources: The more time and money you have to dedicate to SEO, the faster you'll see results. 3. Strategy: This includes your keyword research, the types of content you're creating, and how you're prioritizing your efforts. 4. Competition: High competition means it's going to take you longer to get results. 5.
